Dr. Garrett R. Scott was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. He graduated cum laude from the University of Oregon in 1999 with a degree in General Science and Classical Civilizations. He attended the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society as a junior. He was a graduate with highest distinction from the Keck School of Medicine in 2004. Dr. Scott completed a transitional internship at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan, in 2005. He then went on to ophthalmology residency training in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center where he was chief resident in 2008. He stayed at the University of Michigan for glaucoma fellowship which was completed in 2009. He is board certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Scott is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in glaucoma. He performs cataract surgery and is certified with the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL). As a glaucoma specialist, Dr. Scott treats glaucoma both medically and surgically and has extensive training in glaucoma lasers, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), trabeculectomy and tube shunt surgery. In addition to cataract and glaucoma treatment, he provides comprehensive ophthalmic care.
Dr. Scott and his wife have three children. He enjoys running, skiing, golf, travel and spending time with family.
